Lately though (for the past few months or so) each app has been working well for me and I have been using them for their intended purposes and have often been satisfied with their default (auto) settings. With each new app's 'update' sometimes i'd find it was actually a step backwards and/or sometimes i'd temporarily prefer to use Sharpen Ai for denoising and/or Denoise Ai for sharpening until the next update. Really sad as I definitely liked the programmes when I first bought them.i've found this 'issue' since my start with Topaz's Denoise and Sharpen a couple/few years ago.

Topaz would have to give me a lengthy free trial of all the new stuff to get me to even think about paying for it. Can't believe it was so good when I first got it. Denoise is just rubbish and has ruined everything I've thrown at it in the last few months so I just don't bother anymore. Sharpen I do still use occasionally and it generally works well and denoises well.

Have to say I've lost my confidence in Topaz lately since my copies of Denoise and Sharpen expired. When you do, it should automatically pop up the Browse box, but you may have to click the Choose button. 2) Check the Additional Plugins Folder checkbox. What re your experiences?Īnd has anyone had a good play with Topaz Photo AI? 1) Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences, and then Plug-Ins. But where does Gigapixel fit in? Not having used it yet, I can only guess you still use DeNoise first, then Gigapixel, perhaps, before Sharpen at the end. It's fairly well established that the correct order for using DeNoise and Sharpen is to use them in that order - you don't want to sharpen noise, after all. Gigapixel AI should be interested as, unlike convenional upscalers, it could genuinely create new detail (in theory) thanks to AI.

How are folks here seeing the newer versions in comparison, themselves? I haven't yet installed the updates and additions and I intend to do some comparison tests between the legacy versions of Denoise and Sharpen I have been using and the latest versions. And including renewing updates for another year, plus acquiring the two extra applications, this amounted to about £85 ($101.16).
#Topaz sharpen ai impressions update#
My update licences for DeNoise and Sharpen had expired in June and December last year. Īt the very last minute (offer expired last night), and after checking the finances, I pushed the button on the discounted offer I had for renewing updates on Topaz Sharpen AI and DeNoise AI, adding Gigapixel Ai and early access to Topaz Photo AI.
